Cert. IV in Logistics

CERT. IV IN LOGISTICS

The Certificate IV in Logistics is a qualification for those engaged in logistics operations in the Transport and Logistics Industry in a variety of operational roles. It involves a broad range of skilled applications including requirements to evaluate and analyse current practices, to develop new criteria and procedures for performing current practices, and to provide leadership and guidance to others in applying skills and planning skill development.

On successful completion of the Cert. IV in Logistics students will have the knowledge and skills required for further training in the Diploma of Logistics or other relevant qualifications.

​

Core Units: 

  • Apply chain of responsibility legislation, regulations and workplace procedures

  • Apply knowledge of logistics

  • Collect, analyse and present workplace data and information

  • Manage workplace information

​

Elective Units: 

  • Apply workplace statistics

  • Develop and maintain a safe workplace

  • Negotiate a contract

  • Implement and supervise stocktaking procedures

  • Implement purchasing systems

  • Plan Purchasing

  • Facilitate work teams

  • Conduct induction process

  • Apply conflict/grievance resolution strategies

  • Manage personal work priorities and professional development

  • Promote effective workplace practice

  • Assess and monitor optimum stock levels

  • Monitor supplier performance

Course Duration: 1 year (incl. 12-13 weeks holidays)
The Australian student visa allows you to work 40 hours per fortnight during academic weeks and full-time during school holidays.

DIPLOMA OF LOGISTICS

​

The Diploma of Logistics is a general qualification for the integrated management of logistics. 

 

Achievement of this qualification will require the self-directed application of knowledge and skills, with substantial depth in some areas where judgement is required in planning and selecting appropriate equipment, services and techniques for self and others. 

 

Applications involve participation in the development of strategic initiatives as well as personal responsibility and autonomy in performing complex technical operations or organising others. It may include participation in teams, including those concerned with planning and evaluation functions. Group or team coordination may be involved.

​

On successful completion of the Diploma of Logistics students will have the knowledge and skills required for further training in the Advanced Diploma of Material Logistics or the Advanced Diploma of Deployment Logistics.

​

Core Units: 

  • Administer chain of responsibility policies and procedures

  • Manage customer service

  • Develop and maintain operational procedures for transport and logistics enterprise

​

Elective Units: 

  • Manage fatigue management policy and procedures

  • Ensure a safe workplace

  • Manage risk

  • Manage a supply chain

  • Apply knowledge of logistics

  • Implement and monitor transport logistics

  • Manage suppliers

  • Manage operational plan

  • Manage a contract

  • Manage facility and inventory requirements

  • Plan and manage security procedures for the enterprise

  • Set and achieve budget

  • Evaluate software requirements and hardware enhancements
