What are the benefits of the Internship Program?
As a foreigner without a large network it is often difficult to find employment in Australia.
If you are not a native English speaker and don’t know the Australian market, business culture and regulations it is often impossible to get a foot in the door. Our program opens this door for international interns and supports you to build a career network and work portfolio locally. A high number of our interns have transitioned into full-time positions with their host companies after the completion of their internship.
What are employment references?
In Australia it is usually required to submit references when applying for a job. References are former managers or professional contacts who will be asked for feedback about your work ethic, quality of work and experience. Our program will help you gain those references.

"We've had 5 interns and all of them have been terrific. We've offered jobs to 4 out of 5 and the one we haven't offered a job to is still actually on the internship program...The internship program is an opportunity to 'try before you buy' and you get candidates to come in and you get to work with them for 12 weeks and access whether they are willing and have the ability to learn. If they're good at their job, then you get the opportunity to say well we'd like you to stay on." Adam Stanley, Executive Director - Pitcher Partners

Yes, we offer internships for the summer in Australia. Please contact Study in Australia Group for work placement vacancies.

Do you charge for the internship program?
Internships are not common in Australia. They are usually too time consuming and expensive for employers. This is because training a new intern usually takes a few weeks or even months. Our program reduces the workload and minimises the cost for the employer. Interns usually pay AU$1,500 for our program which covers the costs for the work readiness course, insurance, administration, career coaching, recruitment, events and training through Outcome.Life. However, discounted program fees and free of charge internship programs may apply for students who study at certain colleges. You may also be able to pay the program fees in instalments. Please contact Study in Australia Group to find out if you are eligible for discounts.

Can I do an internship in Australia on a tourist visa?
We can only place interns who hold a valid Working Holiday Visa or Student Visa. If you are currently not studying in Australia and you are interested in a short course along with your work placement, please contact Study in Australia Int. for course options or check the list of our CRICOS approved courses. If you are interested in an English course to improve your business English or get prepared for the IELTS test, check out the English Courses in Australia page.
Getting started!
Interested?
Please send us a short description of your current situation and work preferences. We will check if you are qualified for the program and, if you are, we will introduce you to the Outcome.Life recruiter. Due to increasing demand we can only take a limited number of interns and have to shortlist potential interns for our host companies.

Please note that the work placement program generally involves a program fee.
