DIPLOMA OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION & CARE
​
The Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care reflects the role of Early Childhood Educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in Early Childhood Education and Care services. The Early Childhood Educator works to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard.
​
To achieve this qualification students are required to undertake supervised practical placement in relevant child care settings.
​
Some of our colleges have established pathways for their Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care graduates. Successful students are able to enter the related University Bachelor (Bachelor of Education - Early Childhood, Bachelor of Education - Primary OR Bachelor of Child & Family Studies), with academic credit awarded in recognition of their studies and the opportunity to go straight into second year for this program. The level of academic credit recognition and details of exemptions awarded to individual students will be granted according to the arrangements specified in the Statement of Academic Credit. Early Childhood Educator (Diploma) - Tasks & Responsibilities
Depending on the organisation, an Early Childhood Educator may have responsibility for the supervision of volunteers or other employees in a range of child care facilities such as day care centres, creches and early learning centres.
During the Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care, you will learn how to establish a safe and healthy environment, design, implement, coordinate and evaluate a variety of programs and care routines for children along with a number of other key skills and abilities that will be immediately applicable and relevant to Senior roles in active and dynamic child care environments.
